Sex and The City Impacting Shoe Sales?
I don’t mean to tease you with this picture of these Manolo Blahnik Sedarby Zebra d’Orsays. But I’d have to say that I think the answer to my question above is a resounding “Yes!” Even though Sarah Jessica Parker’s new movie, “Sex and The City” doesn’t officially open until Friday, these amazing heels are already SOLD OUT at Neiman Marcus—even with the price tag of $675.
But even if you don’t get to see these zebra lovin’ Manolos in stores so much, don’t despair! You’ll get to ogle them in the new Sex and The City movie.
And if that’s still not enough, check them out on Melania Trump when the wife of Donald Trump attended the NY Premiere Of Sex And The City!
Gorgeous Gucci Pumps On Sale
Are these gorgeous or what! I came across this sale information when visiting shoe blog.com today and wanted to pass it on!
This Gucci pump is breathtakingly elegant, and check out that classic Gucci Bamboo heel! You would normally pay $470 for a pair of these pumps, but there is a new online shoe store, Josephs, where these are on sale for the unbelievable price of…. $157. The catch? According to Shoe Blog, they are available in size 7 at this price through Josephs.
I think this is quite a deal, but cannot guarantee the availability, so if you happen to be a size ‘lucky’ seven, you might want to check this out.
Christian Dior Extreme Gladiator Platforms— Did You Get Yours Yet?
Sarah Jessica Parker has got the buzz going over Christian Dior’s Extreme Gladiator Platforms—pretty much deemed the next “It” shoe. Parker’s character in Sex and the City is seen wearing these pretty fierce heels several times in the film.
I am a little hesitant about these heels from Dior only because I worry that the the thick dark strap will horizontally cut off the leg-line, making legs look short and unflatteringly thick. What do you think?
But aside from that concern, I love how these shoes exude sexiness with an edge! They are available online for $770, and if that price is in your shoe budget, you better order a pair fast!
The Extreme Gladiator Platforms are made in Italy (sigh), and have 4.75″ heels. These will work in fall weather as well as summer season.
Zappos Pays Employees $1000 To Quit After Training
Wow…Zappos, the online shoe company that I Love Love Love because it offers free shipping, is determined to have the very best when it comes to customer service!
Zappos puts trainees through a very intensive 4-week training program for which employees are fully paid (nice!). The company then presents the freshly trained group with a twist: something called The Offer, which basically goes like this: “If you quit today, we will pay you for the amount of time you’ve worked, plus we will offer you a $1,000 bonus.”
Amazing, isn’t it? Zappos wants the very best and truly committed employees— and what an inventive way to ensure that the company gets just that!
Zappos is expecting to generate sales of more than $1 billion this year, up from just $70 million five years ago. The spectacular shoe company can contribute much of its success to Its huge selection—four million pairs of shoes (and other items, such as handbags and apparel) in a warehouse in Kentucky next to a UPS hub. Zappos also offers free, four-day delivery. That’s pretty good. But most of the time it delivers next-day service–surprising and delighting customers. Zappos also offers free returns—if you don’t like the shoes, you box the them up and send them back to Zappos for no charge.
But their incredible customer service is a remarkable, and I am sure a big reason why customers are so loyal to the online shoe store.
Imagine a voice on the other end of your phone that really cares about your satisfaction. There are no scripted responses, no robotic sounding solutions. The customer care representative you speak with is free to do whatever it takes to make you, the customer, happy.
So, did I mention that I Love Zappos?
Gwyneth Paltrow Spikes Sales Of Stilettos
The stunning Gwyneth Paltrow has been photographed lately wearing some gorgeous and very
high high heels. Here Paltrow navigates cobblestone streets of Rome while shooting an ad campaign for the Italian Design Company, Tods. In these shots, the star is seen carrying a Tods bag, although the heels she is teetering in are by Roger Vivier.
Paltrow has been strutting stilettos of six, seven, and even eight inches from designers such as Pacini, who designed her seven-inch platforms. The shoes were so high she had to be assisted down the stairs by her minder.
The actress was pictured in Berlin wearing Burberry’s, and later the same day she wore a mini-dress with classic black Christian Louboutins.
The star appeared in sky high Giuseppe Zanotti platforms for a trip to Rome before flying to London.
She was spotted first wearing five-inch high Givenchy peeptoe boots during the day, and then changed into a pair of five inch Alexander McQueen court shoes for the red carpet.
Being Photographed in these stunning high heels lately has not only increased interest in Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest film, The Iron Man, but also in sales of high heel shoes in Britain and in the United States.
If this so-called “Gwyneth Effect” has made such an impact on high heel fashion and sales, what can designers and shoe stores be anticipating with the release of the movie version of “Sex and The City?”
Looks like the trend for higher shoe sales and higher heels may continue on for sometime. At least I’m sure retailers are hoping it will.
When it’s not suitable to wear heels
Okay. So this has kind of been bugging me. So last month I went to the Kanye West ‘Glow in the Dark’ concert. As expected all the kids donned colorful hoodies, tshirts, and of course, shutter shades. But why were girls wearing clubbing attire and four inch pumps??? Seriously, you’re at a concert where you’re gonna be on your feet the whole time! I myself like to dress comfortably to a show like this. I’ll put on a cute top with jeans and tennis shoes cause I know that I won’t be moving out of my front row spot the entire show and I’m sure as hell not going to be sitting down in a pit. And plus there will be pushing and it’s hard to maintain your balance and spot in high heels while trying to push back crazy concertgoers.
Ladies, I know you’re all trying to look pretty, but ditch the stilettos. Instead slap on a pair of sparkly flats or Coach tennis shoes. You’re gonna be in a pool of concert goers who only, and should only care about the music than who’s wearing what.

Jimmy Choo Accessories to go with High End High Heels
Jimmy Choo has some beautiful high heel shoes. You can find pumps, stilettos, sexy high heel shoes and more. What I think that I really like about the collection of Jimmy Choo is that he carries designer bags and sunglasses as well. You can typically find nice accessories to go with your Jimmy Choo high heel shoes.
If you are going to pay top dollar for Jimmy Choo high heel shoes, you should also think about your accessories. The better your accessories, the better your entire outfit is going to look as a whole. Having a nice pair of sun glasses that match your high heel shoes could really make a world of difference in your entire outfit.
Love My Brit Gucci High Heels
I love to wear high heels and designer high heels are one of my favorites. However, I don’t normally spend money on high end high heels as I would like to. My budget simply can’t afford it. One of my favorite high heel designers is Gucci. I like a lot of the products that Gucci has.
For Mother’s Day, I was given the best present ever. I received a very expensive pair of Gucci high heel shoes. I got a pair of Brit Gucci ankle strap sandals. Wow, did I feel like I had hit the lottery. These are very expensive shoes. They even have the Gucci logo of the letter G on them so that everyone knows how lucky I was to get Gucci.
Jimmy Choo High Heel Shoes
Jimmy Choo high heel shoes are very classy stiletto heel high heels. These shoes can really make a difference in how your feet and your legs look. One of my favorite in the Jimmy Choo high heel shoe collection is the criss-crossed sandal in silver. It has a stiletto heel and looks absolutely stunning.
You can expect to pay a lot of money for Jimmy Choo high heel shoes. He’s a very classy designer that does heels, regular women’s shoes, sunglasses and designer hand bags. For example, the criss-crossed sandle by Jimmy Choo can cost you around $700 for a pair. They are in the high end heels and very designer heels for you to wear.
