Buy The Shoes, Lose The Guilt!
LOl. No, I am not advocating that every woman run out and spend a small fortune on a pair of Manolo Blahnik today!
But if you are in the envious situation of having extra money to splurge on a wonderful pair of designer shoes, but are feeling twinges of guilt about laying down all those bills on the heels, then you should read this article I came across on BizzyWomen.com. “Ten Reasons to Wear Expensive High Heels” offers up some valid points when it comes to spending your money wisely on new shoes– like comfort. Probably none of us can argue the fact that a well known designer pair of pumps is going to have more cushion and hence be more comfortable than a pair from a discount shoe store.
And then there is the point that buying a high quality albeit expensive pair of shoes could be thought of as an investment. Sure, it might sting to spend a few hundred on a pair of Manolos, but chances are great that the shoes are going to last much longer than a “cheaper” pair of shoes, say from PayLess.
But herein lies the rub, at least for me. While you may be buying quality and looking at it as an investment, chances are if you are living in anywhere near my budgeting neighborhood, that one purchase may be it for you for the whole year. So I might question if I would rather have one outrageously glorious pair of designer high heels, or have several shoe purchases throughout the year of fun, cute, yet way more inexpensive shoes?
Hmm…
But still, if you are itching to buy, hold and cherish those Jimmy Choos, and you have the money just burning a hole in your pocket, but that nagging “Should I or Shouldn’t I” buzzing in our mind, go read the rest of the article, and see if you can squelch the guilt and enjoy your purchase!

Carrie and Manolo Blahnik
Have you ever wondered why Carrie from Sex and The City always wore Manolo Blahnik? Well I did and even though I could not afford them I took a stroll in Neiman Marcus and tried serveral pairs on. It was fabulous the shoes were really speaking to me saying buy me, well if I had the money I probably would have.
Manolo Blahnik is a man of substance, a man of great couture fashion sense, how did he design such a great shoe for women? From the Original Cherry Shoe in 1971 to The Piaggi shoe in 1974, Manolo has made his mark in fashion history. Because of this I now know why Carrie loves the shoes; they are certainly a one of a kind that can not be duplicated.
