I refuse to believe that people can walk in these. Forget the 6″ steel heel, and the absolute nonexistance of a platform to help cushion the height… I… I just refuse to believe that real people can walk in these.

What if I provided video footage of people walking in ballet heels? Would that convince you? Because there’s plenty of such footage, although you have to look around fetish sites to find them. Also, aside from having to know how to walk en pointe to start and needing plenty of leg and ankle strength, not all ballet shoes are equal. Some are built with steel reinforcement in the sole which helps to spread the force between toe and heel, while others are purely for looks and shouldn’t be worn off the bed. However, you do have a point–unless you are ready to train yourself to handle walking en pointe, or else you or your SO doesn’t really get into fetishes, it’s best to pass by the ballet shoes.
