Rock-n-roll cobbler revival

Terry de Havilland the legendary shoemaker from the seventies is back as a leading light in shoe design. His towering platform designs have always been cutting edge and now his worldwide success is growing at quite a rate. It’s really good to see that great shoe designers never die - they just keeping stacking those heels up to the stars!!

Going for gold

Apparently gold is going to be all the rage this Spring/Summer so if you want to be in fashion but steer shy of looking like an extra from a cheap sci-fi movie then investing in a pair of golden mules will keep you a la mode without taking it all a bit too far. A great pair is by Fornarinawhich are great without being too hoochy mama!

Naomi - these boots aren’t made for working!!

Check out the boots Naomi Campbell chose to wear whilst walking to her NY community service for her maid bashing antics. Fair enough she was carrying some more sensible footwear for her cleaning penance but she certainly wasn’t slumming it on the way in her gorgeous lace up Louboutin’s.

Vegetarian Heels?

Killer Heels can now come with a conscience with a range of non-leather alternatives and a perecentage of money from sales donated to ethical charities. These are loved by kind-hearted celebs - how can you be so cruel and heartless as to resist these highly ethical high heels?

A Killer Heel Holiday

Having recently broken my toe and been forced to shrink several inches back down to earth, I’ve had to explore the unthinkable -flat shoes. As even a die-hard high heel wearer like myself couldn’t manage my usual vertiginous heels with a fractured foot. Having been forced to wear moon boots and then (sequinned) slippers due to lack of low heel alternatives in my closet I made myself explore the comfortable shoe market and they don’t get much more comfortable than crocs.

Pretty they are not - but they are kind of funky. They also have a heavenly orthotic foot bed, wide and roomy and are so light you’re practically barefoot. They’re even microbial - not that High Heel Blog readers’ have anything but sweet feet! So inbetween those killer heels slip on some funky rubber shoes and give your feet a well needed break.

Even Better Shoes than Choo’s?

I truly believed that Choo’s represented the ultimate in high fashion for feet, until a trip to Paris introduced me to the achingly chic Christian Louboutin. After spending half an hour drooling in the window like a puppy outside a butcher’s shop, I dared to enter and came out clutching my very own pair of red soled beauties. They were more like pieces of peeptoe art than shoes and I winced a bit when I wore them later outside on the cold, hard Parisian pavement but they were too far fine to gather dust in the closet. I really recommend any fan of high heels to check out the luxuriously appointed site and find yourself some serious shoe love there!
