Sex and The City Blue Manolo Blahniks
I just saw on Shoe Smitten the news that the infamous Manolo Blahnik Something Blue Satin Pumps from Sex and The City are in and available at Neiman Marcus!
Now these blue pumps are not budget-friendly at $945, but as shoe smitten points out…the price will be higher once these babies are out at Neiman Marcus and you have to shop eBay for a pair!
So if you’ve been waiting and dreaming blue about these shoes, check them out now!
Carrie and Manolo Blahnik
Have you ever wondered why Carrie from Sex and The City always wore Manolo Blahnik? Well I did and even though I could not afford them I took a stroll in Neiman Marcus and tried serveral pairs on. It was fabulous the shoes were really speaking to me saying buy me, well if I had the money I probably would have.
Manolo Blahnik is a man of substance, a man of great couture fashion sense, how did he design such a great shoe for women? From the Original Cherry Shoe in 1971 to The Piaggi shoe in 1974, Manolo has made his mark in fashion history. Because of this I now know why Carrie loves the shoes; they are certainly a one of a kind that can not be duplicated.
Sex and The City Impacting Shoe Sales?
I don’t mean to tease you with this picture of these Manolo Blahnik Sedarby Zebra d’Orsays. But I’d have to say that I think the answer to my question above is a resounding “Yes!” Even though Sarah Jessica Parker’s new movie, “Sex and The City” doesn’t officially open until Friday, these amazing heels are already SOLD OUT at Neiman Marcus—even with the price tag of $675.
But even if you don’t get to see these zebra lovin’ Manolos in stores so much, don’t despair! You’ll get to ogle them in the new Sex and The City movie.
And if that’s still not enough, check them out on Melania Trump when the wife of Donald Trump attended the NY Premiere Of Sex And The City!
From the Spring ’08 Manolo Blahnik collection – Mary Janes
These adorable high heels from the Spring ’08 Manolo collection are a wistful yet traditional take on the Mary Jane. They are currently available for pre-order on the Neiman Marcus website for $555 + shipping. The heels, at 3.5 inches, are sexy and tapered without being unbearable for everyday wear – making them ideal for work shoes.
The flesh color means they’ll match with all your spring favorites, from the pair of white pants you still hope you fit into from last season to the trendy new catwalk styles, these versatile shoes go with almost anything.
Shoes this season range from classic to outrageous, which is great for shoe buyers that crave variety. The outrageous styles are fun for going out with girlfriends or on a date, while the classic styles are perfect for business meetings or everyday work-wear.
The fun button accent over the top gives the lovely bit of extra support across the top of the foot that makes wearing high heels a little more comfy. Straps will probably stay in fashion as long as there are high heels to put straps on, because straps are supportive, comfy, and flirty – they’re what make high heels fantastic.
A dramatic statement you could make with these sexy, sultry, flesh-colored Mary Janes would be a great pair of black thigh-high tights and a mini-dress. The stark black would make the shoe color really pop, and as we all know, if you’re going to wear amazing high heels, you want them to get noticed!

Beautiful Blahniks
If you’re looking for a Christmas gift for that shoe-lover on your list and you’re not able to afford a real pair of Manolo Blahniks, check out Blahnik by Boman a new book from Chronicle Books.
Eric Boman, a longtime friend of Blahnik’s as well as a photographer, highlights these impossible luxurious shoes in a series of settings that each tells a story or highlights an influence in Blahnik’s career.
A must-have for shoe lovers and art lovers alike.
Are Sand-booties Made for Walking - too?
Have you seen the new hybrid heels? They are a cross between provocative stiletto boots and sandals. The open-space on the toes and heels represent the ‘sand’ part. The ‘bootie’ covers the ankle to the lower calf region. Sand-booties are free of feminine frailty.
Take a peak at the Manolo Blahnik Collection
The vamp aspect of the heels goes well beyond the recently released second version of “These Boots Are Made for Walking.” Jessica Simpson croons her new rendition of Nancy Sinatra’s 1966 release to the legendary, Willie Nelson’s guitar strokes. The similar lyrics symbolize how high heel boots may change in height or shape, but how timeliness they will remain in rebellious fashion.
For those nights on the town where you want to break the bounds of basic couture, here are some boots to bear your heels into:
Check out these high heeled calf skin anklets with t-straps.
Beware; these are not the type of heels made for the insecure. Hybrid heels are made for walking, breaking new bounds and defining new trends in sand-booties.
Manolo What?
I was flitting about the ‘net and found an interesting new blog called The Seamy Side . Of course, I just had to have a look and found this colorful entry. I think it’s either a piece of fabric art, or possibly a tote bag.
We all know what Manolos are! However, at flickr the creator/photographer, Arlee Barr, notes that it’s “A Shoe of the Special/Manolo series/1, Originally uploaded by arlee. For the discerning customer. A lovely bucket-tote style bag that will carry your desirables *and* the toy poodle. $100.00 CDN including shipping.”
Better yet, she also says,
Textile art turns me on–i get excited about fabrics, threads, beading, trims, you name it. I’ve been known to drool on textile art books and walk funny in fabric stores because it FEELS SO GOOD…..
Are you Coo Coo for Choo?
In the midst of all my postings showing you shoes from this designer and that one, I realized something: I’m obsessed with high heels. Okay, maybe obsessed is too strong of a word. I wouldn’t, say, go bankrupt in order to have a pair of Manolo Blahniks…like Carrie Bradshaw almost did. But, I could easily sit at my computer all day, every day looking at shoes…even though I couldn’t afford over half of them. They are just, well, fun to look at. And I can picture which outfit I would pair them with. Of course, I can also picture myself falling and cracking an ankle in some of them…as I did once in a pair of high heel boots. But, I wasn’t deterred from wearing heels after that crash, and I wouldn’t be after any other.
This makes me wonder about something that guys have wondered about for a long time: what is it about women and shoes? It seems like a huge portion of the female population is coo coo for Choo…along with Manolo and many others. So, I pose this question to all the HHB ladies: what is it that you love about heels?
