Protecting Your Heels in Cold Climates to Show Off in High Heels

It is important to know how to protect your heels so that you can show them off in high heels. In colder climates, the problem of dry heels can be a challenge for high heel wearers. There are some tips that you can follow to keep your heels looking smooth and soft during the colder months of the year.

Each time that you shower use a light scrub on your heels at the end of your shower. Your feet will have time to soak and any rough spots soften while you shower. Use a light scrub solution such as an apricot scrub, sea salt scrub or other exfoliating scrub on the heel area. This will help to remove any daily build up of dry skin and rough spots. You can even do this to your ankles if they are prone to dry skin during the winter months.

Each week use a pumice stone to lightly scrub your heels after you’ve used the exfoliating scrub on them at the end of your shower. Once you have used the pumice stone, lightly rub the heel area with the palm of your hand and use a moisturizing liquid soap.

Once you are out of the shower make certain to dry the heel area well. Apply a small amount of moisturizing lotion to the heel area every day. About ten minutes prior to putting on your high heels, apply a small amount of moisturizing lotion. In the evenings prior to sleep time, again use the lotion. Keeping the heels moisturized will help to protect them during the cold months.
