Don’t forget the polish

Your nails aren’t the only thing that need to be polished regularly to stay shiny and sexy. Your high heels need shining as well.

From stilettos to pumps, your black shoes get the most wear out of everything in your wardrobe. People talk about the “little black dress” but really, everyone has a pair of black heels that sit in the closet to be worn when nothing else will do. Black matches almost any outfit, so having a standard pair you wear often means you have a comfortable, worn in pair that can be worn when you’re going to be outdoors more than you usually are or if you’ll be on your feet for a while but don’t want to suffer through the fashion indignity of flats.

There are many shoe shining products on the market, and the important thing is to have one. Shining your shoes helps them wear longer as well, because if you shine them weekly (on the weeks you wear them at least once) you will find that the grime and dirt from everyday wear doesn’t affect your shoes like it would someone else’s (someone that doesn’t polish!)

Styles will come and go, but your black high heels should be comfortable, like an old friend, ready to slip on and pick up where you left off. Having a great shoe polish will ensure that your old friends look amazing for years to come, because with your black high heels you want to get rid of them because you wore them out, not because dirt made them look scruffy and unwearable.
